More rescues today. This time coming from a home where the owner felt they were no longer getting the attention they deserved.
The trio consists of Mum, Dad & Baby.
Mum Star is a Tri-Colored Crested, Dad Charlie is a Roan & White and son Chocolate is a Chocolate & White Crested.

Today saw our first rescues arrive.
They came in good health and are as such no trescued cavies. They came from a friend who decided that they were not a breed that they wanted to continue with. So here they are.
They are a trio consiting of one Black Harlequin Boar (Beric) and two sows Harlequin carrier sows (Brie & Charlotte)
The sows are expecting, one more so than the other at the moment. All settled in well and will soo be assessed as to how soon they can be put up for adoption.
The month of June has seen the idea of Summerland Cavy Rescue actually become reality.
Although still in the planning stages at the moment, research into running a rescue and creating contacts are ongoing.
A rescue area is being designated, and once the additional hutches need arrive then we we will able to start taking in our first rescues.
Initally we will be setting a limit of 10 cavies in the rescue at any one time. Of course in a bad situation I will not turn a cavy away that needs my help. But because I will be running the rescue from home, and have a full time job and my own cavies to look after numbers need to be limited.
I hope that we become a local rescue that lasts and that in the process we can help both owners and cavies alike.
Take a look around the site and see what you think. Feel free to leave any feedback, and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any problems (I am at the end of an email for ANY cavy advice that I might be able to give).
